2010 BFC (Builders for Christ) Mission Trip

We go on a trip every year with the BFC to help build churches (well, Jeremy helps build churches…I try and help out in the kitchen)…the past couple of years I’ve had a little one, so my contribution has been limited somewhat. JT has been both years of his life and we plan to go again this year! Last year we went to Lewiston Idaho…beautiful (and since we go in June…we mostly enjoy the “spring” like weather)

We love serving others and ALWAYS come home with a blessed heart! We have many fun late night discussions with our host families (it’s amazing to have such an instant connection to people when your connected through Christ). These families always become new friends! Last year was no exception…we truly miss the late night talks with our good friends (host family) Bob and Tobi. They have two incredible sons! We miss them all!

The trip there was… hmmmm…eventful! For the most part, JT did good, but we both had moments of tears! I only captured the smiles :)

Having a toddler traveling with us was a bit of an adjustment! All day traveling (including a VERY long 2 hour car trip) was all I could stand…tears! Things got better each day as we got more into our new routines. Even though it wasn’t the easiest situation, I would do it again in a heartbeat (if you’d asked me while there I would have told you differently haha). Looking back I see the blessings I would have missed…SO this year, we are taking a TWO YEAR OLD TODDLER…pray for us! :) At least he is a very well behaved two year old!

Most days, JT and I slept late (imagine that)…and then helped with lunch for the men. After lunch we spent a lot of time watching Daddy build the church! Then nap time for JT/supper prep for mommy. After supper, we usually went back to our host family’s house for some yummy Tillimook (aka THE BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD) and the sweetest fellowship you could ask for!

I didn’t notice until just now, but it sort of looks like they are building an ark! :)

We usually have one day off…and we usually spend it trying to see God’s beautiful creation!

JT’s John Deere 2nd Birthday

This is my sweet JT…he was so excited about his JD party! The party was OH SO MUCH FUN! I had help from many, but w/o my big sis and my sweet hubby, this party would not have happened...THANK YOU BOTH...JT LOVED HIS "TRACTOR PARTY"!!!

Most everything (at least decor wise) was handmade by me. My inspiration was this cute customized tee I found at a local children’s store!

Most of these pictures were taken by friends/family to whom I am FOREVER grateful…thank thank thank you!)

PARTY DETAILS…

We had chickens and a pig for the little ones to pet…

WHERE to actually FIND chickens and pigs…well, that’s a very long (and very funny) story…let's just say the 'burg has a kind of "secret chicken society" that meets BEFORE daylight every Saturday morning...I'm now a member (but will not be attending anymore "meetings")
